How can the Kivu-Kinshasa Green Corridor be turned into a catalyst for biodiversity conservation and development, driven by local communities and Congolese youth?
The Congolese Youth Biodiversity Network (GYBN DRC) invites you to a side event focusing on the opportunities, challenges and solutions led by young people for the conservation of biodiversity in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Scheduled for 27 October 2026, from 10.00 am to 11.00 am, at the Armenian Pavilion in Yerevan, this discussion will bring together representatives from the youth sector, the conservation sector and civil society to explore ecological connectivity, landscape restoration and inclusive governance of the Kivu-Kinshasa Green Corridor.
This meeting reflects one of the GYBN DRC’s strategic ambitions for 2030: to help establish an observatory for the Kivu-Kinshasa Green Corridor, with a view to strengthening the monitoring of biodiversity issues, supporting local initiatives and promoting the participation of young people and communities in decisions affecting this major ecological area.
Through this event, the chapter also aims to foster synergies between youth organisations, local communities, public institutions, researchers, and technical and financial partners, with a view to developing practical solutions to promote biodiversity and sustainable livelihoods.
